Security & privacy

How Whelpkeep protects your data — encryption in transit, isolated per-breeder access, two-factor authentication, secure payments through Stripe, and your rights under the Australian Privacy Principles.

Your kennel's data is your business. This page explains how Whelpkeep keeps it private and secure. For the formal terms, see the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

Your data is yours, and isolated

  • Only you can see your kennel's data. Other breeders cannot see your animals, buyers, records, deposits or compliance. This separation is enforced on the server for every request, not just hidden in the interface.
  • Buyers see only their own puppy. A buyer's page shows that one pup's updates, the records you chose to share, and their own contract and receipt — never your other buyers, your pick order, your prices or your ledgers.

Protected in transit and at rest

  • All traffic runs over HTTPS, so data is encrypted between your device and Whelpkeep.
  • Your files (photos, certificates, PDFs) are kept in private storage and shown to you through short-lived, signed links — they aren't publicly browsable.

Sign-in security

  • Two-factor authentication (2FA) is available for your account under Account & Settings → Security & Billing. Turn it on to require a 6-digit code from an authenticator app at login.
  • Buyer sign-in is passwordless. Buyers receive a personal, single-use link by email — there's no buyer password to leak or reuse.
  • You can reset your own password from the login page at any time.

Payments are handled by Stripe

Whelpkeep never stores card numbers. Deposits and balances are processed by Stripe, a major global payment provider, and paid directly into your own connected Stripe account. Card details are entered on Stripe's secure pages, not on Whelpkeep.

Your privacy rights

Whelpkeep is built for Australian breeders and follows the Australian Privacy Principles. You can:

  • see and correct the personal information held about you;
  • ask for a copy of your data;
  • ask us to delete your account and personal data (compliance records that the law requires to be kept may be retained as required).

We collect only what's needed to run the product, we don't sell your data, and we tell you in the Privacy Policy who processes it on our behalf — including any providers located overseas.

A note on the help assistant

The Ask Whelpkeep assistant answers from our own documentation only. Don't paste sensitive personal or financial details into it. Questions may be stored to help us improve the docs; see the Privacy Policy for details.

Reporting a concern

If you spot a security issue or have a privacy question, please contact our team — we take it seriously and will get back to you.
