What Whelpkeep does (and who it's for)
Whelpkeep is a back-office web app for small Australian dog and cat breeders. It tracks litters, takes deposits, keeps records and helps you stay state-compliant.
Whelpkeep is the back-office for ethical Australian dog and cat breeders. It is one tidy place to run the business side of a litter — your animals, buyers, deposits, records and state compliance — so the paperwork looks after itself and you can focus on raising healthy puppies.
Who it's for
Whelpkeep is built for small, registered breeders in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland and South Australia. It suits you if you:
- raise the occasional planned litter and want it done properly;
- are tired of juggling spreadsheets, a notes app, your camera roll and a messaging thread per buyer;
- want to take deposits cleanly and keep buyers updated without writing the same email ten times;
- want to be confident each litter meets your state's breeding rules.
It works for dogs and cats, and it handles more than one breeding animal, litter and buyer at a time.
What it does for you
- Keeps your breeding data in one place. Your sires and dams, litters, pups, buyers and records all link together, so each puppy carries its own history.
- Takes deposits safely. Buyers pay a deposit straight into your Stripe account. Whelpkeep never touches the money — it just records the payment and unlocks the buyer's private puppy page.
- Reads your documents for you. Upload a vaccination certificate or pedigree and Whelpkeep pulls out the details and offers them for you to confirm — no re-typing.
- Stays compliant by state. Add your state breeder ID and Whelpkeep tracks deadlines, ticks off a per-litter checklist, and stamps the right legal wording onto contracts and listings.
- Keeps buyers in the loop. Each buyer gets a private puppy page with weekly photos, weights, shared health records, their contract and their receipt — reached by a simple emailed link.
What it is not
- It is not a payment processor. Your deposits and balances are handled by Stripe, in your own account.
- It is not a registry or a microchip database. It records your IDs and chip numbers; it does not register animals on your behalf.
- It is not legal advice. The compliance features and Rules pages are general guidance to help you stay organised — always check your state regulator for the final word.
