The Compliance screen

Compliance is your per-state breeder IDs and the rules that apply where you breed. Add an ID with Add ID. Whelpkeep validates each ID against the official register for you.

Your breeder IDs

One card per state, each showing the registry (BIN, source, supply or DACO number), your ID number, any expiry/renewal or next re-check date, and a validation badge (such as Valid, Check pending or Invalid). A short validation log records each check. You can Edit or Remove an ID here.

Care & premises

Housing, cleaning, food and water, daily care and transport aren't ticked from documents — so you confirm, once per state, that your setup meets the standards. It's recorded as "breeder confirmed", never as a verified fact. For NSW you'll also see your female cap count (non-desexed females over six months, against the cap of 20).

Rules for your states

A summary for every state where you hold an ID or a litter — the instrument, who it binds, and a per-category status. Expand a state for the detail, or follow Full [state] rules & official sources → to the Rules pages, which are the authority. Whelpkeep is guidance, not legal advice.

What the status chips mean

Inside an expanded state, each rule category carries a coloured chip telling you how that state treats it:

• Standard (must) — legally required in that state. You have to meet it.
• Guideline — recommended best practice, not strictly required.
• Not covered — your state's code is silent on this; it sets no rule here.

Instrument, Structure, Who it binds, Species

At the top of an expanded state are four labels describing the law itself:

• Instrument — the name of the Act or code of practice that applies.
• Structure — how that law is organised (for example, a code with numbered standards).
• Who it binds — which breeders it legally applies to.
• Species — whether it covers dogs, cats, or both.

"Does this code bind you?" (VIC only)

For Victoria you'll see an amber callout headed "Does this code bind you?". VIC's code binds DABs (3–10 fertile females, non-club) — Domestic Animal Businesses, meaning breeders with 3 to 10 fertile females who aren't in an applicable club. The callout shows your recorded intact-female count and your club-membership status so you can judge whether it applies to you.
